“Being a photographer is not what I do, it’s who I am.
I have been shooting since the beginning of high school and knew I wanted to be a professional photographer since the age of 16. I was always the one with a camera at every single event, which in those days, before the onset of smart phones, was quite an unusual thing! This approach has helped shape my signature natural documentary style.
Second to photography, cooking and recipe development is another great love of mine so it was only natural for my two great passions to come together eventually. To cement this convergence, I decided to continue my studies and went back to CPUT in 2010 – completing my BTech part-time over two years, specialising in food photography.
My other speciality is lifestyle photography. Capturing natural shots of families with their loved ones – pictures that they will hold dear for years to come – is such a privilege for me. The fact that I get so much fulfilment and enjoyment from this kind of photography is a huge driver for me to continue honing my skills for the benefit of my clients.”
